In August of 2004 I was appointed as the Building Inspector/Code Enforcer
for the Village of South Glens Falls. I am a certified Building
Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer in New York State. The transfer of
responsibilities between personnel (as a result of the retirement of John
Fenton) has been completed and things are moving forward.
The Village Board is taking an aggressive attitude in promoting our
community and I believe the results can be seen in both the current boom in
building and the projections of things to come. New residential dwelling
units are seen scattered throughout the Village and additions to existing
homes are on every block, or so it seems. The pride of the Village residents
is displayed in their continued enhancement and improvement of their
property.
Code Enforcement will continue to be a top priority in the Village.
The commercial development in the Village is very exciting. The building
permit for the Hannaford Store has been issued and work is progressing.
Remodeling and maintenance projects have significantly improved the
appearance of numerous businesses. The next year looks to be an even better
period of growth for our community.
The Code of the Village of South Glens Falls contains laws that affect
every person and every business at one time or another. This includes
everything from the building code to the zoning law applied uniformly
