The South Glens Falls Village Assessment Roll for the
year 2005, encompassing about 1500 parcels, has been finalized and submitted
to New York State. Prior to submission to the State, eight property owners
availed themselves of the procedure to "grieve" their respective properties'
assessed value. The three member Board of Assessment Review for the Village
met at the Village Hall with individual property owners on February 15,
2005. At that time, the taxpayer and I each had the opportunity to present
to the board our views regarding the property's assessment. Letters
informing the property owners of the board's determinations were
subsequently mailed.
Although the assessment roll for this year's taxable
status date has been finalized and the grievance procedure completed, I
encourage present property owners or those contemplating property ownership
in the Village who would like to discuss their property assessments with me
to call the SGF Village Hall to schedule an appointment.
